Gulf Breeze FL Homes for Sale and Community Information

Gulf Breeze FL real estate is situated out at the end of the Fairpoint peninsula south of Pensacola. About 6,000 residents live in Gulf Breeze and enjoy endless outdoor activities. A three-mile bridge connects Gulf Breeze to the city. Another bridge, the Bob Sikes Bridge, links the Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach.

The history of the area dates back many centuries. Spanish explorer Tristan de Luna and 500 troops arrived here in Pensacola Bay in 1559. The British later occupied it in the 1700s, and they named it Town Point.

With parts of the Gulf Islands National Seashore sharing the peninsula with Gulf Breeze, the community is unusually quiet and secluded, considering its proximity to a major city. The city enjoys over 18 miles of waterfront. The powder-sand beaches are places where kids can frolic and adults can savor a little "R and R."

Gulf Breeze is very kid-friendly. There's the 138-acre Shoreline Park and the 50-acre Gulf Breeze Zoo. The Tiger Point Sports Park offers numerous ball diamonds. Shore fishing is possible at a number of locations as well.

Some of that waterfront is put to good use at the 27-hole Tiger Point Golf Course. Located along Santa Rosa Sound, the complex includes the East Course and The West Course. The centerpiece is the East Course, a 7,041 yard Scottish links-style test that has hosted PGA professional tournaments.

Of course, Pensacola is home to the famed Blue Angels. The Pensacola Lighthouse is on Pensacola Bay across from the Naval Air Aviation Museum. The Lighthouse was built in 1859. The 1869 keeper's quarters is fully restored. The Lighthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Just across the bridge into Pensacola Beach, Bands on the Beach offers live entertainment throughout the summer.

Gulf Breeze real estate includes the luxury condominiums at the Portofino high rise complex. Residents enjoy all the luxury amenities along with spectacular Gulf views afforded by floor-to-ceiling windows. There are homes for sale in Gulf Breeze that are nice 2-4 bedroom affordable residences for young families and retirees. Gulf Breeze homes for sale also include the occasional waterfront luxury estate.

The City of Gulf Breeze was incorporated in 1961. A prospective Gulf Breeze home buyer with a young family will want to know that the grade school, middle school, and high school are conveniently situated side-by-side. High test scores excellence in sports are the norm here. Those that invest in Gulf Breeze FL homes enjoy the still unspoiled beauty of the Fairpoint peninsula.
